Shangri-La’s Villingili Resort & Spa, Maldives Announces Buddha-Bar Beach Pop-Up

Following the success of Buddha-Bar Beach’s first Maldivian appearance at the resort for the 2017 festive season, the world-famous restaurant concept is back on Villingili Island from November 1, 2018 to January 31, 2019

Shangri-La’s Villingili Resort & Spa, Maldives announced the return of Buddha-Bar Beach, one of the most recognized restaurant brands across the globe, for a three-month pop-up from November 1, 2018 to January 31, 2019. Throughout the winter and festive season, guests will be delighted and entertained with delicious Mediterranean and Asian fusion cuisine, a special mixology corner, an al fresco Veuve Clicquot Beach Cabana and live DJ.

Known for its pulsating energy and unforgettable atmosphere, Buddha-Bar Beach will take over Dr. Ali’s Restaurant at Shangri-La’s Villingili Resort & Spa, where guests can taste Mediterranean and Asian fusion cuisine created by Buddha-Bar Worldwide’s Chef Zuzumo accompanied by tranquil views of the Indian Ocean. The menu has been specifically designed to add a social element to the dining experience with a sharing menu of small plates, ideal for families and groups of friends alike.

In addition, guests can experience the bar’s mixology corner headed by Matthias Giroud, executive bar chef for Buddha-Bar Worldwide. For the special occasion, Giroud concocted a unique cocktail list infused with fresh ingredients from the resort’s Chef’s Garden to complement the food offerings. Set to become a jet set favorite, Buddha-Bar Beach will also launch a late night hot spot at the Endheri Pool Bar complete with Veuve Clicquot Beach Cabanas. This al-fresco setting will offer signature food and drinks set against the backdrop of Villingili’s pristine white beaches and turquoise waters.  Guests will also be able to experience the subtle blend of house and lounge music that Buddha-Bar is famed for at both pop-up venues with Buddha-Bar DJ and Music Producer Talilo.
